Pros

  • Features to automatically start and stop the hotspot

Cons

  • Intrusive ads that require $1.99 Pro version to remove
  • App is downright ugly and designed for past Android OS versions
  • Many users report the app simply doesn't work for their devices

Mobile HotSpot creates a hotspot using a device's data connection. Unlike other developers, AndroidSTT attempted to create an app with more features. The app doesn't include a simple On/Off toggle and a password field. Users can enable various features that improve the entire experience. From there, individual users can broadcast an internet connection to their other devices in seconds and monitor the usage of the new hotspot.

Fortunately, users will encounter an open-and-go setup with this app. The app launches on a given device, and the first option presented is the toggle for the hotspot. An individual can set a custom password for the hotspot connection as well. Plus, Mobile HotSpot includes various automatic features to make the app even more useful. It's possible to set the app to activate or deactivate once the charging cable is connected to a device.

Also, users can set the hotspot to turn off after 30 minutes or usage, or when the battery reaches 20%. Most other hotspot programs don't include automatic features like these. Mobile HotSpot comes with a handful of issues, though. For starters, the app includes a lot of advertisements that can only be removed with a $1.99 payment. Overall design looks more suitable for Android 4.4 than a modern version of the Android operating system.

It doesn't help that quite a few users report the hotspot feature simply doesn't work. Mobile HotSpot appears compatible for many old phones, but not most modern devices. In the end, most smartphones include a native feature for enabling a hotspot. Mobile HotSpot is essentially a redundant app that doesn't work on all hardware and software configurations. Users might find better results relying on the hotspot features built into their devices.
